Materials

Every Zadig & Voltaire piece begins with material. Here's a closer look at the leathers and textiles we work with most often.

Leathers

Grained leather
A pebbled finish that resists scuffing — our signature for handbags. Soft to the touch yet structured, it ages beautifully and develops a natural patina.
Suede
The reverse side of the leather, brushed to give a velvety nap. Best kept away from rain and oil; brush gently with a dry cloth to revive the texture.
Patent leather
A high-gloss finish achieved through a multi-layer lacquer. Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth — never use solvents, which dull the shine.
